JH Large Group Festival

Thursday, March 28, 2024 - MSSU Music Festival, (7th & 8th grade Concert Band only)

The 8th grade and 7th grade concert bands will be traveling to Joplin, MO to participate in the MSSU music festival. Students will perform prepared pieces for a clinician.  The clinician will work with the ensemble and provide feedback. To do our best it will be vital that we have all of our performers at the performance.They will need their black Neosho Junior High band t-shirt and black dress pants for the performance.  Students will also need to bring money ($10.00) for lunch at Roller City in Joplin.  I will collect the Money along with their permission slip. This is due March 25th. Exploratory band students are invited to attend the field trip too. Report to the band room no later than 7:45 am so we can start getting organized. You can come as early as 7:30 am.  Students who ride the bus come to the band room when you arrive.  The bus will need to leave at 8:00 am.

Our schedule for the day is as follows:

7:45  a.m. - Report to the JH Band Room (Take attendance)

8:00 a.m.. – Depart for MSSU

8:30 a.m.. – 8th grade warm-up

9:00  a.m. – 8th grade performs/clinic

9:30  a.m. – 7th grade warm-up

10:00 a.m. – 7th grade performs/clinic

11:00 a.m. – Load Bus

11:30 a.m. – Lunch at Roller CIty  (Pay $10.00 in advance, lunch and skating included)

 (you can bring additional money for laser tag, arcades, and concessions)

1:30 p.m. – Load the bus for Neosho Junior High

2:00 p.m. – Arrive at  Neosho Junior High

2:15 p.m. – Students should be back in class

What to Bring:

$10.00 for Lunch and Skating at Roller City  (Due with permission slip)

water bottle, instrument, music, valve oil, reeds, wear band t-shirt, with dress pants and shoes

Permission slip and $ 10.00 due by March 25th.
