Welcome to BAND-tober

Thank you so much to all the parents who helped with setup, concessions, and chaperoning at the dance last night! It was a very successful event, and we truly couldn’t have done it without your support.

October is packed with events across high school and junior high band programs (including marching, jazz, and concert bands). I received updates to our BOA schedule early last week, and just got the Maple Leaf schedule on Friday afternoon. I’ll be finalizing our plans for both events in the next few days and will share those details with you as soon as possible.

Below are some important upcoming dates and events:

Tuesday, October 7 – Band Booster Meeting, 6:00 PM

Location: High School Band Room

This is our regular monthly meeting. We’ll also meet with parents who plan to chaperone BOA to go over logistics, expectations, rooming assignments, and address any questions before finalizing our plans.

Friday, October 10 – Homecoming Parade & Game

Note: No school this day.

• 12:30–1:50 PM – Band room open for students to retrieve instruments.

• 2:00 PM – Students report to parade lineup location (details coming by Wednesday; in previous years, this has been in front of the library).

• Uniform B: 2025 band t-shirt, khaki shorts, tennis shoes

• 2:30 PM – Parade begins

• After the parade, students return to the band room.

• 4:30 PM – Boosters will provide pizza for dinner.

• After dinner, students will change into full band uniforms and follow our regular game night routine.

Saturday, October 11 – Renegade Review @ Tulsa Union HS

Event schedule: Renegade Review Schedule

A separate Signup Genius will be sent out for parent volunteers to help with meals and snacks.

Thursday, October 16 – HS Jazz Band Concert, 6:00 PM PAC

Thursday, October 16 – District Honor Band Audition Registration Due

(For both Concert & Jazz Bands)

• Auditions will be held Tuesday, November 4 (evening), at Carthage High School.

• Students must sign up on the board and check in with a director before we can register them.

Saturday, October 18 – Maple Leaf Festival

• Preliminary performance: 2:30 PM

• Morning rehearsal is scheduled.

• A full detailed schedule for the day will be sent later this week.

Friday, October 24 – Home Football Game: Senior Night

• Senior band parents will track out before the game.

• More details will be provided closer to the date.

Friday, October 31 – Possible Home Playoff Game

• Game dependent on team performance on whether we host that first game or not.

• We’ll know more by the end of the month.

Saturday, November 1 – Parent Showcase

Although technically not in October, we want to get this on your radar!

We plan to host a short rehearsal and performance in uniform that evening as part of our final push toward Bands of America Grand Nationals.
