Our third jazz contest of the season is coming up! Our schedule for the Drury Jazz Festival Saturday, February 28 is as follows:
11:15 a.m. – Arrive at the school and load the buses
11:30 a.m. – Depart Neosho
12:45 p.m. – Arrive at Drury, check-in, and unload
1:00 p.m. – Stage Band Warm-Up Findlay Student Center 212 President’s Dining Hall
1:30 p.m. - Stage Band Performance FSC Ballroom
1:50 p.m. - Stage Band Clinic
2:30 p.m. - Studio Band Warm-Up O’Bannon 101
3:00 p.m. - Studio Band Performance Spangler Hall
3:20 p.m. - Studio Band Clinic
3:30pm-5:30pm - Watch Bands
5:30 p.m. - Awards Ceremony and Closing Concert
6:30 p.m. - Depart Drury
6:45 p.m. - Dinner in the Springfield area
7:45 p.m. - Return to Neosho, unload, and go home
The performances are at Drury University, Springfield, MO. The Stage Band will perform inside the Findlay Student Center and the Studio Band will perform in Spangler Hall 900 N Benton Ave. This event is open to the public and free of charge.
What you need to bring: your ALL BLACK dress clothes, your instrument, mouthpiece, mallets, sticks, reeds, money for dinner. Bring something to snack on if you will get hungry during the ride there or back.
Please eat before arriving. Bring money if you’d like to purchase snacks or souvenirs from the dining hall or student center shop. We will stop for dinner before returning to Neosho. Students should bring money for dinner. Bring something to snack on if you will get hungry during the ride there or back.
Be courteous to other groups and to each other! Remember, you are representing the band, music department, the school, and all of Neosho! Please conduct yourselves accordingly!
