JH Contest @ NEO

The NEO instrumental festival is upon us! Our schedule for Tuesday, April 3 is as follows:

7:50 a.m. – Load the bus

8:00 a.m. – Depart school for NEO

8:50 a.m. – Arrive at NEO, unload, check-in

9:00 a.m. – JH Concert Band warm-up

9:30 a.m. – JH CONCERT BAND PERFORMS!!! (Theater)

10:00 a.m. – JH Symphonic Band warm-up

10:30 a.m. – JH SYMPHONIC BAND PERFORMS!!! (Theater)

11:00 a.m. – JH Orchestra warm-up

11:30 a.m. – JH ORCHESTRA PERFORMS!!! (Ballroom)

12:00 p.m. – Load buses, head to lunch. Chain of fast-food restaurants. Bring $$$

1:30 p.m. – Load the bus and depart for Neosho

2:30 p.m.(ish) – Arrive in Neosho. Unload bus, and return to class.

What you need to bring: your instrument, music, concert clothes, as well as all sticks/mallets, reeds, valve oil/cork grease, etc. In addition, you will need money to eat lunch (approximately $5-$10) Fast food restaurants.

WHAT TO WEAR?

Boys - black dress slacks (NO JEANS, SHORTS, nor CARGO PANTS), Black dress shoes (NO TENNIS SHOES), black socks, black belt as well as a white collared dress shirt (no writing on shirt or under shirt). Black tie and jacket is optional.

Girls - black dress pants, black dress, or black skirt (knee length or longer) with a white blouse or white dress top. Dress shoes. Heel is okay (3” or less), but prefer flats as we move around campus. Skirt/dress MUST go past the knee when sitting down!!

Remember, you are representing yourself, the band, the school, and all of Neosho! Be courteous to other groups and to each other! Please conduct yourselves accordingly at each location!
