State Solo/Ensemble Contest

State Solo/Ensemble Contest will be taking place Friday May 2 - Saturday May 3.  The schedule for the weekend is as follows:


Friday

Students will report to their morning classes and eat lunch.

12:30 p.m. – Report to the band room, get equipment and load the bus

1:00 p.m. – Depart high school

5:00 - 6:30 p.m.’ish’ – Fast Food dinner stop (will need money)

7:30 – Airmen of Note concert (Jesse Hall Auditorium)

9:00 – Depart Concert

9:15 p.m. – Arrive at Stony Creek Inn for check-in

10:00 p.m. – Report to rooms for inspection

11:00 p.m. – Lights Out


Saturday

6:00 a.m. – Wake up, get ready, and eat breakfast

7:15 a.m. – Check-out

7:20 a.m. – Depart hotels

7:35 a.m. – Arrive at MU, unload, find performance rooms, and warmup

8:21 a.m. 3:42 p.m. Perform, watch performances, support each other, and warm-up (show up 30 minutes before performance) – you can get lunch on campus (will need money)

4:00-p.m.’ish’ – Depart MU and head to Neosho (we likely will stop for food on our way home)

8:00 p.m.’ish’ – Arrive in Neosho. Unload bus.


The hotel we are staying at Friday night is the Stoney Creek Inn – 2601 Providence Rd., Columbia, MO 65203. (573) 442-6400


Students will be assigned rooms. You must stay in your room until morning.  All rooms will be taped for verification.  Tape removed in the morning 


What you need to bring: your performance clothes, your instrument, mallets, sticks, reeds, money for dinner (Friday), and lunch (Saturday), and possibly money for dinner Saturday.  In addition to any shopping money, clothes to change into, an overnight bag, extra pillows and blankets if you prefer for sleep etc. Bring something to snack on if you will get hungry during the ride there or back.  Breakfast will be provided at the hotel for the students.  


Be courteous to other groups and to each other over this two-day event! Remember, you are representing the band, music department, the school, and all of Neosho! Please conduct yourselves accordingly!
