PSU Jazz Festival
The PSU Jazz Festival is Friday, March 4th. Our schedule for the day is as follows:
6:30 a.m. – Load the bus
6:45 a.m. – Depart high school for Pitt. St.
7:45 a.m. – Arrive at Pitt. St, check-in and immediately unload the bus.
8:00 a.m. – Studio Jazz Warm-Up
8:30 a.m. – NEOSHO STUDIO JAZZ BAND PERFORMS (Bicknell – Linda and Lee Scott Performance Hall)
8:50 a.m.– Short clinic, get a group picture, pack instruments, then return to watch bands as a group.
9:30 a.m. – Stage Jazz Warmup
10:00 a.m. – NEOSHO STAGE JAZZ BAND PERFORMS (Bicknell – Linda and Lee Scott Performance Hall)
10:20 a.m. – Short clinic, get a group picture, pack instruments, then return to watch bands as a group.
10:30 a.m. – JH Jazz Band Warmup
11:00 a.m. – NEOSHO JH JAZZ PERFORMS (Bicknell – Dotty and Bill Miller Theater)
11:20 a.m. – Short clinic, get a group picture, pack instruments, then return to watch bands as a group.
12:15 p.m. – Watch Webb City Jazz 2
12:45 p.m. – Load the buses Depart for lunch
12:50 p.m. – Depart for lunch
1:00 p.m. – Lunch (will need money)
2:00 p.m. – Shuttle to Holiday Lanes
2:30 p.m. – Holiday Lanes (bowling is provided for each student), there is also snacks and an arcade that students could use, but it would have an added expense
4:30 p.m. – Shuttle to the mall for dinner
5:00 p.m. – Dinner (will need money)
6:30 p.m. – Load bus and depart for Memorial Hall downtown
7:00 p.m. – Get tickets and seats and sit as a group for evening concert
7:30 p.m. – Airmen of Note Concert
9:00 p.m.’ish’ – Load the bus
SHOW CHOIR BAND STUDENTS WILL LOAD AN ADDITIONAL BUS THAT WILL BE THERE DEPARTING WITH CHEER FOR KC AT THIS TIME
10:00 p.m.(ish) – Arrive in Neosho. Unload bus, and then head home.
What you need to bring: your instrument and music as well as all sticks/mallets, reeds, valve oil/cork grease, etc. You will need money to eat lunch and dinner as well as any additional events at Holiday Lanes or shopping in the mall.
WHAT TO WEAR?
JH - Black dress pants, black socks, and black dress shoes and your band t-shirt
HS - “Cool Gig Clothes”
Boys-dress slacks (NO JEANS, SHORTS, or CARGO PANTS), Dress shoes (NO TENNIS SHOES) with a belt to match your shoes, dark socks, as well as a dress shirt (no writing on shirt or under shirt). Tie and jacket is optional. NO bow-ties
Girls-dress pants, dress, or skirt (knee length or longer when sitting) with a blouse or dress top. Dress shoes. Heel is okay (3” or less) or flats.
You could change out of your performance clothes into school clothes for the afternoon activities and evening concert. However, JH will remain in their band t-shirt. Remember, you are representing yourself, the band, the school, and all of Neosho! Be courteous to other groups and to each other! Please conduct yourselves accordingly at each location!
