Mt. Vernon Marching Festival

Our third competition is upon us and will be at the Mt. Vernon Marching Festival on Tuesday, October, 10! The schedule is as follows:

3:30 p.m. – Report to the band room, load the buses and trailers

4:00 p.m. – Depart to Mt. Vernon

4:45 p.m. – Arrive in Mt. Vernon, check-in, unload, and eat dinner (provided)

5:45 p.m. – Get into uniform

6:10 p.m. – Warm-Up/Tune

6:30 p.m. – Move to staging area


6:55 p.m. – Clinic

(after our clinic we will get out of uniform and return to watch the remaining bands)

8:00 p.m. – Class 4/5 Awards

8:10 p.m. – Load buses and trailers

8:30 p.m.’ish’ – Depart

9:30 p.m.’ish’ – Arrive in Neosho. Unload bus, and trailer.

What you need to bring: your band shirt, black athletic shorts, long black socks, your instrument, mallets, sticks, reeds, flags, rifles, sabres marching shoes, gloves, and any money you may want for concessions.

If we do not make finals then we will eat and depart. If we do make finals then our dinner will be determined after our placement is announced. Dinner will be Subway sandwiches, chips, and a drink. We are looking for cookies, pop, and water to be donated. Concessions will also be available.

This performance will be held at Mt. Vernon High School, 400 MO-174, Mt. Vernon, MO. Admission to the competition is $5.

Be courteous to other groups and to each other! Remember, you are representing the band, music department, the school, and all of Neosho! Please conduct yourselves accordingly!
