Today we took 4 ensembles ~130 kids to Webb City for the MSHSSA State Large Group Contest. With the directors being away last Tuesday for junior high contest and the devastation in Goodman that evening, most of the students had not played since last Monday. So today, when the first time they are playing in a week was at state contest, we were feeling that a bit. Students did represent themselves well though considering the circumstances. The Symphonic Band and our Woodwind Choir both received Division 2 Excellent Ratings, and our Concert Band received a Division 3 Good rating. Our Percussion Orchestra was the final Neosho Ensemble to perform today, and was able to capture a Division 1 Superior rating. It was not bad, but we definitely have areas to improve moving forward.
