Hotel: The hotel we are staying at Thursday night is the Best Western Independence 18700 E 37th Terrace St., Independence, MO (816) 795-1616. Chaperones and teachers will be on site. Rooms will be checked and doors will be taped by lights out. We ask that students pay $20 to help with hotel expenses on this trip. If they have a positive balance on their CutTime account then they could use that.
Venue & Performance: The performance is at the Gem Theatre 1615 East 18th Street, Kansas City, MO. The event is open to the public and free of charge.
Bring with You: What you need to bring: your ‘all black’ performance clothes, your instrument, mallets, sticks, reeds, money for concessions/meals/etc., clothes to change into, an overnight bag, extra pillows and blankets if you prefer for sleep, swimsuit if you intend to swim in the time available at the hotel to do so, etc. Bring something to snack on if you will get hungry during the ride there or back.
Meals: Lunch Thursday, and breakfast Friday will be provided. Students will need money for dinner Thursday and lunch Friday. Lunch on Friday would be fast food options. Dinner Thursday will be at the Sports Complex. Most meals are between $10-$20. Students also can pay for any activities they wish to participate in at the sports complex from an arcade, to bowling, to laser tag, skating, sports simulators, and more.
Most Importantly: Be courteous to other groups and to each other over this two-day event! Remember, you are representing the band, music department, the school, and all of Neosho! Please conduct yourselves accordingly!
