On Friday, October 27th we will be traveling to Kansas City to watch the Kansas City Symphony in an open dress rehearsal preparing for their performance of Shostakovich's First Violin Concerto, Dvorak's 8th Symphony, and Suk's Fantastic Scherzo. High School students in both band and orchestra are invited to attend to watch such outstanding performers.
Eligible students to travel will need to meet at the high school by 6:45am that morning to load the bus and depart by 7. The rehearsal begins at 10 and will last approximately 2-2:30 hours. After we are done we will travel to Main Event where students will get 2 pieces of pizza, unlimited drinks, unlimited use of their facilities (bowling, billiards, lazer tag), and an arcade card loaded with $10. We will stay there about 2-2:30 hours, and should return to Neosho by 6pm.
We would recommend dressing nice but comfortable for this event. 'Business casual' would be a good term to consider when selecting attire.
Students will need to pay $25 to attend this trip and would need to pay by October 13th. Checks can be made out to the Neosho School District, or they can pay in cash. Make sure you receive a receipt from one of the directors.
